Pull rivets are a type of rivet used for single-sided riveting, but they must be used with a special tool--rivet gun (manual, electric, pneumatic) for riveting. During riveting, the rivet core is pulled by a special rivet gun, causing the rivet body to expand, achieving the riveting effect. These types of rivets are particularly suitable for situations where ordinary rivets (which need to be riveted from both sides) are inconvenient to use, and are thus widely used in products like buildings, automobiles, ships, airplanes, machines, electrical appliances, and furniture.
The existing major categories of pull rivets can be divided into:
Standard open-end pull rivets: including open-end round head pull rivets and open-end countersunk head pull rivets
Closed-end pull rivets (also called waterproof rivets): including closed-end countersunk head pull rivets and closed-end round head pull rivets.Main materials include aluminum, iron, stainless steel, and copper.
Structural pull rivets: The biggest difference between structural pull rivets and ordinary rivets, aside from having very high strength, is that a typical feature is the rivet core being locked within the rivet body and not loosening after riveting. Many people might think that the core of ordinary rivets remains within the rivet body after riveting, but in fact, it can become loose, whereas structural rivets emphasize the retention of the rivet core. Structural pull rivets are divided into: external lock pull rivets, internal lock pull rivets, seahorse-type pull rivets, cup-shaped pull rivets, single drum pull rivets, double drum pull rivets, stainless steel double drum pull rivets, double lock pull rivets, BMW pull rivets, and so on. These structural rivets are mainly used in car, railway, and aviation industries.
The main working methods of pull rivets are as follows:
Place the rivet on the single side of the locked component, the rivet core into the head of the rivet gun, and the most crucial part is to ensure the gun head tightly contacts the end face of the rivet.
Start the riveting operation until the opposite side of the rivet expands and the rivet core breaks off.
In various industries, because of their unique single-sided riveting design and efficient construction methods, pull rivets have become an important choice in many fields. The pull rivets provided by Xintegu have excellent strength and durability, suitable for various complex riveting needs, ensuring safe and reliable construction.
